Frequently Asked Questions
What does a session with Karin cost?
Each session is $280 for 70 minutes, with 80 or 90-minute extended sessions available if more time is needed. 80-minute sessions are $320, and 90-minute sessions are $360. Pricing is the same across every type of healing session.
Is distance healing as effective as in-person?
Yes. Karin's sessions are conducted by phone, and distance is no barrier to receiving an effective healing session — in fact, it makes it more powerful. One client, working with Karin entirely by phone from across the country, described feeling just as much physically during the session as she would have in person, and realized the distance genuinely didn't matter.
What is an energy healing session like, and how long does it take?
A typical session runs about 70 minutes. Please allow for a minimum of 20 minutes after the session, since you will be in a deep state and will need some time to integrate. The session starts with a short conversation about what's going on for you, followed by a brief meditation, and then the energy work itself, which involves much less talking. You'll be reclined and comfortable the whole time. Most people describe the experience as deeply peaceful and relaxing, whether or not they're consciously aware of what's happening in their field. It's common to feel tingling, warmth, or emotional release during a session, whether you're awake or asleep.
Is energy healing safe, and is it a substitute for medical care?
Energy healing is generally safe, but it is not a substitute for medical care. Karin does not diagnose or treat disease, and her sessions are meant to work alongside your doctors, not instead of them. Most of the time, what she finds during a session lines up closely with an existing medical diagnosis. If you have a new or worsening symptom, see a doctor first. Energy work complements medical care rather than replacing it.
What is Karin's training, and how long has she been practicing?
Karin is a graduate of the Brennan Healing Science School and trained as an orthopedic technician in Germany, where she worked at two medical universities before moving into energy healing full-time. She has been practicing since 2001. That medical background shapes her more systematic, organ-by-organ approach to reading the field, rather than a purely intuitive style of energy work.
How do I book a session with Karin?
A consultation is required before booking a session. Please call Karin at (310) 717-6829 or use the contact page to schedule a free 20-minute consultation.
Can I book a session for a family member, or as a gift, without them being present?
Yes. A consultation is required with the spouse, parent, or friend before the session.
About the Work
-
The field, also called the human energy field, the bioenergetic field, or the aura, is the layer of energy that surrounds and moves through your body. It holds a record of what you've lived through physically, emotionally, and mentally. This is where Karin works during a session, reading and adjusting the field directly rather than working on the physical body alone.
-
No. Belief isn't a requirement, though an open mind tends to deepen the experience and make it more enjoyable. Several longtime clients started out as committed skeptics of anything alternative and found real, lasting results anyway. One client came to Karin after years of more conventional treatment and described himself as skeptical of anything "new-agey," and still found the results life-changing. The energy doesn't require your belief to move, but your willingness to receive it does help.
-
Unlike general Reiki or massage, Karin's approach is built on a specific, systematic assessment of your energy field that extends into your actual organ systems, not just a general sense of where energy feels off. It's a more structured, diagnostic style of energy work. Karin trained for years at the Brennan Healing Science School, which teaches this precise method of reading the field. Unlike talk therapy, which works through the mind, her sessions work directly with the energetic patterns underneath a symptom, often alongside therapy rather than replacing it.

Cord healing addresses the invisible energetic ties, or "cords," that connect us to the people in our lives, starting with the parent-child bond. Cord Healing is used to work through recurring, difficult relationship patterns that keep repeating themselves. It's an advanced healing modality applied in sequence, usually after preliminary healing has stabilized your field, since a strong foundation is needed before this deeper relationship work can fully take hold.
-
The core star is the essence of your being, your inner radiance, and the unique signature of who you are beyond personality or persona. Core star healing reconnects you to that essence when you've become disconnected from it. Some traditions describe the core star as a specific energy center in the body; Karin's own work frames it less as a fixed location and more as your core essence itself. Looking for validation outside yourself, or losing your own identity in relationships, are two common signs of being cut off from it. Core star healing is usually done alongside hara healing rather than as a standalone session.
-
Hara healing is all about helping you fulfill your longing and your purpose. It works with your Hara line: a gelatinous energetic line running through the center of your bones and in front of your spine, connected to your sense of life purpose. When it's damaged, people often feel pain in the area along with a disconnection from what they're here to do. This modality is especially helpful during major life changes, when recovering from physical trauma, or for anyone searching for clarity about their direction in life.
-
Past life healing works with mysterious, unexplained present-day pain, fear, or illness that is a remnant of trauma carried over from a previous lifetime, stored in your energy field. Karin specializes in identifying and releasing this kind of pattern when it doesn't respond to more conventional approaches.
-
Spiritual surgery is a deeper level of energetic intervention that works through the structure and levels of your energy field, reaching the physical body through the field itself to repair an issue, organ, or condition. This modality differs from psychic surgery, where a practitioner works directly on the physical body to remove something like a tumor. Spiritual surgery is done with the help of what Karin calls a surgical healing team and is used when an issue needs more than a standard energy session can provide. Some clients feel sensations like pulling, pressure, or heat during the process; others sleep through it entirely, which doesn't make it any less effective.
-
No. Psychic surgery works directly on the physical body, sometimes described as a healer appearing to remove something like a tumor by hand. Spiritual surgery instead works through the fifth level of your energy field, with the help of a surgical healing team, rather than through the physical body itself. This is a common point of confusion; the two terms get used interchangeably online.
-
Heart healing works with your heart chakra to address both relationship issues and the physical heart itself, and it supports and prepares the ground for all other healing modalities. It's often where Karin starts, since an open, healthy heart center makes every other kind of healing work more effective, and it's especially supportive for grief, loss of purpose, and disconnection from others.
-
Lower back pain usually connects to the sacral chakra, the second chakra in the back. It rarely exists on its own, and typically shows up alongside the whole grounding triad: the first chakra, the Dan Tien, the sacral chakra in the back, and the second chakra in the front. Lower back healing addresses blockages across this system to relieve pain and restore energy flow. Most straightforward cases see relief in 2 to 4 sessions, often noticing improvement during or right after the first one. More complex or long-standing issues can take longer, and the work tends to go faster for clients who are also taking care of themselves through exercise, nutrition, or bodywork alongside their sessions.
-
The fifth chakra, in the front, governs the throat, the thyroid, the esophagus, the voice box, and the vocal cords. A blocked or distorted throat chakra can show up as physical tightness, discomfort, or a lump-in-the-throat sensation that doesn't show up on medical scans.
Distance Healing & What to Expect
-
It depends entirely on your field's condition and what you're working toward. Most times, people need more than one session. Some do ongoing weekly work over a period of months. Karin will have a clearer sense after your first conversation and an initial look at your field.
-
For frequent travelers, this work often becomes a form of self-care, especially for those moving internationally through different time zones on a regular basis. Clients use these sessions to reground themselves in their current location and stay physically present, even amid constant time zone changes. Many book a session right after they arrive, whether they're settling back home or landing wherever they're headed for work or vacation, so they can be fully present without the drag of jet lag.
-
Most people notice a change in the very first session, a shift in how they feel physically, emotionally, or mentally. Lasting change tends to build from there over several sessions. It's supported by the lifestyle choices you make between sessions, so the biggest, most durable results tend to come from ongoing work rather than a single visit.
-
That’s wonderful! Falling asleep during a session is usually a sign you're receiving the healing deeply, not that you're missing anything important. Karin will typically check with you ahead of time about whether you'd like to be gently woken at the end of the session or left to rest undisturbed.
-
A little preparation deepens the experience: get clear on your intention beforehand, take a short walk if you can, spend a few minutes in quiet meditation, and choose a comfortable, undisturbed spot to lie down. It also helps to have water nearby, turn off your phone once you've connected with Karin, and rest on your back.
-
Plan on resting for at least an hour afterward, since rest helps the healing fully integrate. That integration process usually continues to unfold over the following days, not just during the session itself. Some people feel tired afterward, others feel energized, both are normal. Between sessions, it's worth looking honestly at whether your sleep, food, movement, and relationships are supporting the change you're working toward.
Who This Work Is For
-
Karin's ideal client is ready for real transformation physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Many clients come to her during a significant life transition: a health scare, a divorce, grief, burnout, or a sense that something needs to shift more deeply than talk therapy or medicine alone can reach.
-
Karin most commonly works with anxiety, depression, exhaustion, grief, chronic pain, and major life transitions. She often works with individuals recovering from illness or surgery (including post-chemo brain fog), and autoimmune or digestive conditions like Crohn's that haven't fully resolved with conventional treatment. Karin also works with women who are experiencing peri and post-menopausal symptoms. The fuller list of conditions Karin works with is on the List of Conditions page.
-
Yes, definitely. Karin has worked with numerous women on this particular issue with success. An initial consultation will help to assess your field to determine what you need specifically.
-
This is one of the most common reasons people reach out to Karin. Much of her work involves unexplained, chronic, or "mysterious" pain and illness that doesn't show up clearly on standard medical tests, often because the root cause is energetic rather than purely physical. That doesn't mean a medical workup isn't worth pursuing. It's still important to rule out what conventional medicine can identify, but if your labs and scans look normal and you're still struggling, that's exactly the kind of situation Karin's work is built to address.
-
Yes. Several clients have shared detailed, named accounts of their experience, including one that documents a sustained, tracked improvement in blood pressure over several months of distance healing sessions. You can read full stories, including that one, on the Client Stories page, along with the Healing Through Forgiveness article for a fuller sense of what's possible.
Children, Animals & Groups
-
Yes, always through a parent or guardian. Sessions with children are typically done remotely while they sleep, so the child doesn't need to be present or aware during the session.
-
Yes. Cats and dogs are Karin's specialty, and distance healing works just as well for animals as it does for people. She's open to working with horses and other animals by request. Pets often pick up on the stress or illness of the humans closest to them, so a pet healing session can support both the animal and, indirectly, the household around it.
-
Yes. Group sessions are transformational, custom-built events designed for the group's needs, and are typically in-person. Group healing can be for a family, a small retreat, or another gathering. Reach out directly to talk through what would work best for your specific group.
