How to Prepare for a Session

A little preparation goes a long way in deepening your healing experience. Before we begin, take a few moments to get clear on your healing intention. What is your desired outcome? It might be something specific you're working through or simply an openness to see what arises. A simple statement out loud or to yourself is most helpful. For example: "It is my choice to release this discomfort, pain, mental tension, confusion, or unhelpful habit, now.” If you're able to, a short walk beforehand can help you transition out of the busyness of your day and into a more grounded state. Follow that with a few minutes of quiet meditation, just sitting with your breath and letting your mind settle. Then find a comfortable, undisturbed spot where you can lie down without interruption. Your bed, a couch, or a yoga mat all work well, so long as it's a space where you can fully relax.

A few small details make a real difference once we get started. Keep some water nearby in case you feel thirsty during or after the session. Once we've connected, go ahead and turn off your phone (or at least silence it completely) so you can be fully present without distraction. And when it's time to begin, simply rest on your back and let your body settle into stillness. The more relaxed and unhurried you can be going in, the more open you'll be to receive whatever the session brings.
